Juli 2010 - Ferien auf dem Bauernhof bzw. bei Mama ♥

 

 

Nun endlich ist es soweit. Leda und Obelix sind bei mir eingezogen.

Sie haben sich rasch eingelebt und geniessen sie Zweisamkeit und den gesicherten Balkon mit Blick über die Stadt Bern.

Ledarna’s Name stammt von der Königin von Sparta und so benimmt sie sich auch!

Sie kam im September 2004 zu den Waterproofs. Die kleine bunte Maus wurde sofort von Melody adoptiert und war schnell im Rudel integriert. Ihren ersten und einzigen Wurf zog sie mit viel Fürsorge auf. 

Leda hat sich zu einer eigenwilligen Persönlichkeit mit grossem Selbstvertrauen entwickelt. Im Umgang ist sie anhänglich, verschmust und absolut treu. Sie gehorcht wie ein Hund, ist sofort zur Stelle, wenn sie gerufen wird. Besucher werden freundlich begrüsst. Seit sie nun kastriert ist, wurde ihr Wesen etwas ruhiger. Doch ist sie noch immer sehr eifersüchtig auf die andern Katzen und möchte ihre Bezugsperson nur für sich haben.

Obelix ist unser kleines Wunder. Das Wunder der Hoffnung und den Glauben nie aufzugeben. Er wurde mit dem FCK Syndrom geboren. (Flachbrustkitten oder mit einem "Pectus Excavatum") Niemand hat damit gerechnet, dass er damit überlebt. Aber Obelix wird diesen Sommer vier Jahre alt! Er hat sich zu einem grossen, kräftigen, wunderschönen Maine Coon Kater entwickelt. Er war der „Joker“ im Rudel; Versteht sich mit allen Katzen, gibt Köpfchen und lässt sich von niemandem einschüchtern. Er ist der optimale Begleiter für Leda.

Good things come to those who wait. Finally Leda and Obelix moved in with me. They felt at home instantly and enjoy togetherness and the secured balcony with the picturesque view of the city of Bern.

Leda’s name originates from the queen of Sparta and that is exactly the way she behaves! She moved in with the Waterproofs in September 2004. The colorful little sweetie was instantly adopted by Melody und integrated into the pack. Leda raised her first and only litter with a lot of care.

Leda developed into a wilful personality with a lot of self-confidence. She is affectionate, cuddly and absolutely devoted. She obeys as a dog when she is called. When we have visitors she is the first to greet them. Since she is spayed she is much calmer. However she is still very jealous and does not want to share her beloved person with other cats.

Obelix is our little miracle, the miracle of hope and the faith not to give up. He was born with FCK-syndrome (flat chest kitten syndrome resp. “Pectus Excavatum"). Nobody expected that he could survive. Nevertheless this summer Obelix will celebrate his third birthday! He developed into a tall, strong and very handsome male cat. Within the group he acts as a kind of “joker”; he gets along with all cats, gives headbutts and never feels intimidated by the other cats. Therefore he is the perfect companion for Leda.
